Privacy
Credo collects as little as possible. Here is all of it, in plain language.
You do not need an account
You can search, browse and view every parish without signing up. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number to use Credo.
Your location
If you tap “Use my location”, your phone gives Credo your coordinates so we can sort parishes by distance. This happens on your device. We do not send your location to our servers and we do not store it. If you refuse, everything still works — you pick a state or town instead.
Saved parishes
Parishes you save are stored on your own device, in your browser. They are not sent to us and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Correction reports
If you report a correction, we store what you told us so we can check it with the parish. Giving your phone number or email is optional — we only use it to follow up on your report, and it is never shown publicly or given to anyone else.
To stop the same person flooding us with reports, we store a scrambled code derived from your network address. It cannot be turned back into your address or used to identify you.
Parish contact details
Phone numbers and email addresses shown on a parish page are the parish’s own public contact details, published so you can reach them. Personal contact details for parish staff are kept internal and are never displayed.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your data.
- We do not use advertising trackers.
- We do not build a profile of you.
- We do not take donations or process any payment.
